Art in the Garden event is on!
SLO Botanical Garden is having their Spring fundraiser event, starting this Friday, 30-APR-21, 11a.m. to 5 p.m. The event continues this Saturday and Sunday, then Thursday - Sunday through 16-MAY-21. Yours truly will have a table of ceramic ware on display in the gallery (aka "Art in the Garden"), which features local artists and artisans - glassware, paintings, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, planters, and drawings. The Botanical Garden is within El Chorro Regional Park - across the highway from Cuesta College. There will be food trucks and some live music, and SLOBG will be running their plant sale as well. See details here: Art in the Garden - Show and Fundraiser — SLO Botanical Garden (slobg.org) Portions of every sale benefit the Botanical Garden. Thanks to SLOBG for inviting me back to this event! Thanks again to SLO Botanical Garden for invite to participate in 2020 "Art in the Garden" event!
For 2021, looking forward to: * Participating in another show or two * Donating work to fundraisers benefitting homeless, cycling advocacy, and other worthy causes * Exploring teapots, pitchers, lidded forms, glaze combinations, sprigs, and stencilled patterns 13-DEC-2020
Set more ware out at SLO Botanical Garden sale yesterday - a few more vases, medium mugs, small bowls, teapots, and a few large mugs. Event continues Thursday through Sunday, ten a.m. to four p.m. The venue is a large airy room, typically two or three people wander through at a time. I pinned open all the doors during my shifts, and opened a few windows as well. 13-NOV-2020
Put out a few more things on my table yesterday, and added some vertical. Thanks to Dianne Draze for the help, very appreciated! Have decided to hold off on a sale out of my studio this year - am "all in" on SLO Botanical Garden sale*, Thursday - Sunday 10 to 4 through the end of December. The participants share minding the gallery - my remaining turns are tomorrow 14-NOV-20 ten to one, again 28-NOV-20 and 5-DEC-20 ten to one, and ten to four 12-DEC-20. I expect the selection to diminish as the days roll by, however, am working on a load of mugs, bowls, teapots, and vases now, which should hit the gallery in about two weeks. * hold/request/commission items will be through the studio by appointment. 5-NOV-20
Art in the Garden event starts today, ten to four, Thursday through Sunday until last weekend in December. Here's the initial layout; will bring in more ware tomorrow, then periodically from there. Really excited about this event - a chance to get my ware "out there" and also support the Garden. 21-OCT-2020
Hoping to participate in San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden's upcoming holiday sale! A portion of each sale benefits the Botanical Garden (a non profit enterprise). Each artist is required to work in the gallery during sale - am looking forward to it. I will be holding back some ware for upcoming holiday and birthday gifting, pieces designated for this year's BikeSLOCounty event (cancelled due to Covid), and a few others. 22-MAY-20
Red glaze tests look great! Formula is same as "Chrome Red" in John Britt's book - I got it from a friendly instructor. Very happy with green also, "Rutile Green" from Bill Van Gilder's book. Objectives for the year are changing - we have an ongoing crisis. Looking to: *build up inventory toward a Fall sale event of some kind; *work on a white glaze; *work on this website!; *donate to local organizations. |
